The Boar’s Head
Traditional Village Pub tucked away in the village of Aust. The menu doesn’t look much different from the chain pubs around the area, however, they clearly buy in fresh ingredients here and it shows in the end result. Food service can be a bit slower but this is way better than the microwave-brigade pubs. The atmosphere is always jolly with nice touches such as candle-lit tables – even at lunchtime!
The original walls date back to early 1500,s and has always been a hostelry. The two rooms were for both baking bread in the now bar area, and for horse shoeing in the restaurant area. They have two extremely large open log fires which are always ‘cosy’ in the colder months.
The pub was awarded Pub of the Year by Trip Advisor in 2021.
